ABOUT
Boris is leading the model design and development for physical climate risks. His goal is to bridge the gap between global and in-situ impact assessment by employing hyper-resolution models to describe the impacts of natural hazards such as flooding, storm, and wildfire. He is passionate to reveal the full costs of physical climate risks at the enterprise level. Being based in Potsdam, Boris is managing Carbon Delta Germany GmbH and maintains close collaboration with the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK).
Prior to joining Carbon Delta, Boris has been working as a post-doctoral researcher at PIK. His ongoing academic research focusses on regional vulnerability and exposure to climate-linked natural hazards. He also worked as a consultant at KPMG Financial Risk Management with a focus on credit and market risk in the banking sector. Boris holds a Ph.D. in Geoscience from Freie Universität Berlin and a Master’s degree in Physics from Imperial College London.
